Dunedin - full day photo tours

The perfect blend of a photography workshop and a sight-seeing tour.

Dunedin, New Zealand offers a unique range of photographic material. There are few places in the world where you can find forests, historic buildings, coastal cliffs, city streets, beaches, wildlife, harbour and mountains, all within easy day-trip distance.

Combine this with a travel guide who has 20 years experience as a travel photographer, and who is keen to ‘talk shop’ at every stop about photography tips and tricks, light, angles, lenses, photo composition and more, and you have the ideal mix for a stunning day out.

Our full-day tours, in and around Dunedin, offer a mix of some of the city’s iconic sights as well as more than a few lesser known places, offering you the opportunity to capture some unique shots from this part of the world. While we see many sights, our focus is always on how you can take better travel photos.

Every tour is slightly different, as we endeavour to tailor each tour to the photographic preferences of those on it. So if you have a hankering for historic buildings and moody Victorian architecture, or you’re all about the tides and the play of light on the water, we will do our best to make your tour fit your needs.

Because of the nature of travel photography, weather, light, seasons, and even tides on the day may also dictate which places are best to visit.

Small group photography tuition on location in Dunedin, NZ

Each tour is limited to five photographers.

We find this works well as it doesn’t matter what equipment or experience you have – everyone gets individual tuition.

The added bonus is that we travel in an eight-seat van, seating everyone comfortably and safely, with plenty of room for photography gear and day-packs.

Our Dunedin day trips are usually designed and timed to fit around cruise ship visits, however, we are happy to pick you up from the ship or from your accommodation in Dunedin.

Note. With the lower tourist numbers because of covid, we don't currently have any scheduled tours but are happy to put on small group tours to suit individual requirements. Please contact us for more information.
