NZ Autumn / Fall - 5 days - 20-24 April 2022 Places available - 0

Five places only per tour

A small number of places across the planet are famous for their autumn or fall colour. The inland parts of the southern South Island is one of those places, and is a photographers dream in late April. Not only are the colours stunning, but fine calm days are more common at this time of year.

Join us for our small group (5 maximum) five day tours of Mackenzie Country and Central Otago. David has travelled in this area his whole life, and knows all the best places for autumn colour. Our small group means that at each location you'll get individual tuition on how to take the best images.

Leaving Dunedin, our tour will stop at the famous Moreaki Boulders, and the historic town of Oamaru, before heading the the Waitaki Valley to the Mackenzie Country. We will take in Aoraki / Mt Cook - New Zealand's tallest mountain, and the autumn colour around the many lakes of the Mackenzie Country and Waitaki Valley. Here the higher altitude means cold nights, that results in more vibrant autumn colour.  If we are lucky, the backdrop to the riot of colour will be mountains topped with fresh snow.

In Central Otago we'll visit famous autumn destinations of Arrowtown and Wanaka, as well as Queenstown and the golden vineyards of Bannockburn. We'll return to Dunedin through the largely underated Maniototo Region, which is full of photographic opportunities.

Cost   5 day / 4 night tour. NZ$2950 including GST twin share, NZ $250 single supplement.
